CALLING ALL BASKETBALL PLAYERS: Sign up now for Juneteenth Basketball Playoffs

Riddle Promotions is pleased to announce Juneteenth Basketball Playoffs at Wings Event Center on June 19, 2021. Brackets are available for Teens 11-16 and Adults (women only and co-ed/men) 17+. Each team can have a max of 8 players for 5 on 5 tournament play. Registration is only $62.50 per individual player or $500 per complete team and includes all three locations. The winning team at Wings Event Center will receive a $1,000 prize. There are optional placement game days available at Courthouse (May 24 and May 26) and Centerpoint Church (June 8 and June 10) leading up to the tournament day at Wings Event Center on June 19.
Fans are welcome to attend Juneteenth Basketball Playoffs within COVID capacity. The event will include a Dunk Showcase featuring Kalamazoo’s own Dunkin’ Doug Anderson and a 3-point contest. Juneteenth will be honored throughout the gyms and with the donation of $5 per fan ticket to be split between three local and Black focused charities. These charities are ERAC/CE, ISAAC and Rootead. Tickets are Children 12 and under: $7 in advance / $10 at the door and Adults (13 and up): $15 in advance / $20 at the door.
Charles Riddle, Jr and his partner Romaine Harper have been a part of the thriving basketball community in Southwest Michigan for years. They are hosting this event for the Greater Kalamazoo and Michigan basketball communities to celebrate Black history and culture as well as unity and teamwork thru the fun of basketball.
Riddle and Harper also see Juneteenth Basketball Playoffs as an opportunity for Teens 11 and up to play ball after so many months of gyms being closed with COVID. “Building fundamental skills are important for young hoopers and we want to make sure the youth have an opportunity to compete before the new school year,” said Riddle, “this event will also provide a fun and unifying environment to celebrate Juneteenth and casually learn more about Black history.”
ALL teams and individuals from all backgrounds, races, cultures and religions are welcome to sign up and play.
